New jobs

I found myself  in empty period . There is no news from French editors so I use this time to do some little jobs . As matter of fact , I prefer this kind of arrangements more than long jobs such as comic albums for French editors . But working in comic business have some good sides , that makes me going back in comic world . Doing albums is for certain ( you know what , and how much you are going to work next one year ). With free lance it's not that simple . And as a comic author you can build some carer and be known as drawer with his own project and style  .

NIN magazine - Cover page

My professor from academy Jugoslav Vlahovic asked me if I want to do cover page for NIN magazine for main theme of this issue : "Serbia on the edge of disaster"  . And I said : Sure why not , I like disaster things.
After I finish it I realize it's a bit messy , and you can't see at a first sight what is all about . Well , I can tell you now : it's bunch of buildings that represent various institution in Serbia , that falls straight to hell .
Cute , and optimistic , isn't it ? Well , that's NIN - very optimistic magazine .

Art centre

Here I am after some time  . Here are two relatively old drawings that I made for concurs of Belgrade Art center . Nothing special to mention about it . First one is Horror-vacui with Rade Markovic ( director of center ) explaining me the rules of concurs . All around it are some associations that I have during making the picture . Something like things I made for Scrap book ( the chip is real one ).

Second one is picture that I made one year latter , and it's about Shaun Tan - Australian illustrator that I admire very much . And just about that time I discover him , and had need to make remix of his illustration on my way . Thanks Tan for fabulous work ! Oh yes , the balloon is made of textil , and map is a reqal one  . 

Hell boy dedicace

My publisher , calls me few days ago , and tells that he wants to publish new Hellboy book , and that it would be nice to have little gallery on the end where some Serbian comic drawers would do one Hellboy . And there it is ....

Engraved comic

Few days ago , I was digging through my old stuff , and works from Academy . And I stumbled upon this . My graphic from 1997. when I was on 4th year of Academy of applied arts . My professor wasn't very happy that I am interested in comics , and she was disgust with my idea to make engraved comic . But when I explained her that I want to do ten copper plates instead one ( which was our assignment ) she said OK . Of course , every plate is another picture on this one page comics called "Metamorphoze" , and it's combination of few techniques : engraving , etching , aquatint , mezotint , drypoint . It takes some time to finish it , but main problem was printing . I had lot's of troubles to make just six prints , because it constantly happened that everything is good but one or two plates are not printed well , so the whole thing is bad . Finally , professor was very satisfied and finds it very cute , and I get 9 yeeee!
